Whole nation should gratitude for soldiers-Wimal Weerawansa
National Freedom Front Leader Wimal Weerawansa stated that the every citizen of the country should be grateful to patriotic soldiers who are sacrificing their lives in order to save the nation.
He made these comments while taking part a ceremony at the Army 563 Headquarters in Vavuniya yesterday (20).
He further added that the whole credit should go to the security Forces, for liberating the Kilinochchi.

LTTE suspected of looting UN offices
The United Nations said yesterday its offices in the north had been looted after aid workers were evacuated last week.
A statement from the UN said it suspected the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were involved in the theft from buildings it had left on the orders of the Government. The UN did not disclose what was stolen, but local media reported that the suspected Tigers took large stocks of fuel and electricity generators.
“The UN has drawn this to the attention of the LTTE and says that humanitarian assets and staff ought to be protected at all times in accordance with international humanitarian law,” the statement said.

“Api Venuven Api” Cultural and Musical Show in UK
The “Api Venuven Api” Cultural and Musical Show to raise funds for houses of war heroes engaged in operations to save the motherland, risking their lives, will be held at the Troxy Theatre in Western London today.
Security Advisor of the Sri Lankan High Commission in Britain Brig. Prasad Samarasinghe said a large gathering including British Government Parliamentarians and Ambassadors are due to be present at the performance by the Cultural troupe of the Tri Services.
The Sri Lankan High Commission and the Defence Ministry are the joint organisers.

Proper mechanism should be adopted to prevent bribery and corruptions –DIG Neville Guruge
Commission to Investigations of Bribery or Corruption Director of Investigation Senior DIG Neville Guruge told Lankapuvath that in order to prevent bribery and corruptions in the country, a proper mechanism should be adopted.
He further added that with the help of public, politicians, government and clergy, the mission is to begin shortly.
He stressed that the foundation should be initiated from school .Public and school children should be educated about bribery and corruptions.
