The Eastern Provincial Council has unveiled an accelerated programme to uplift health facilities of the East.
The work to uplift the health facilities will be carried out under the Eastern Resurgence programme with the directives given by the President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The identified shortcomings in the Trincomalee General hospital, two Base Hospitals, the Terminal Hospital, the Rural Hospital, Central dispensaries and Maternity Homes in the Eastern province will be eliminated as first phase of the progmarme.
An initial discussion in this respect was held at the Eastern Provincial Health Services Director’s office. Public representatives and health officials attended this meeting.
