A new housing scheme has been built and completed in Mannar for the fisher families.

It was launched under the “Uthuru Wasanthaya” Housing Development Programme. A notable feature was the completion of the project within 100 days. These houses will be dished out to 50 fisher families who have taken shelter in temporary sheds.

The Housing Development Authority launched the Scheme with the contribution of the “Jana Sevana” housing assistance programme. Roads, water and power are among the basic amenities provided.

The Housing Scheme was launched on the instructions of the President and the guidance of Chief of the “Uthuru Wasanthaya” Task Force and Senior Presidential Advisor and Parliamentarian Basil Rajapaksa. It will be vested in the  people shortly.
