Indonesian investment is likely to flow shortly into Sri Lanka at a massive scale, following the visit of Special Presidential Adviser and MP, Basil Rajapaksa to Indonesia, sources from the Board of Investment(BOI) Sri Lanka revealed.
Rajapaksa led a high powered BOI team to Indonesia to explore investment opportunities with Sri Lanka’s diplomat in Jakarta,Major General (Rtd),Nanda Mallawaarachchi mediating between the Sri Lanka- Indonesia Business Council.
Basil Rajapaksa held extensive discussions with the Indonesian business sector with much focus on investment opportunities in the North and East of Sri Lanka, areas that now fast turning normal.
He stressed the need to enhance economic development in those two regions, a measure to win the hearts of the people battered by a cruel terrorist war for over three decades.
Rajapaksa head a Committee to redevelop and rehabilitate the Northern sector and has been working round the clock to meet deadlines.
