In addition to this Mr. Samarakoon has also designed mechanisms, using colour codes, numbers , and symbols to identify inventory movements, stationary items in an office, easy access to stationary items required within a few seconds and a mechanism to conduct an inventory survey from 20 to 30 minutes period.
The CEB is planning to use these methods in all their 54 Regional Offices and later on to encourage other government offices and institutions to adopt these methods.
Further, the Lindula Consumer Services Centre also functions as a mini-museum of Sri Lanka’s Electricity Supply. It has meters, transformers, meter cubicles used from the time of commencing electricity supply in Sri Lanka in 1912. Many of these items, such as electricity meters, electricity poles, transformers etc have been imported from U.K.
The electricity supply in Sri Lanka, has commenced with power supply to areas in Colombo in 1912 and in the same Nuwara Eliya has also got power supply due to the area being the residential place of many Britons at that time.(niz).
