de mining 2010 03 05 Engineering corps progresses with de mining An area of 50 square kilometers in the North has been de-mined during the past two months. The Army Engineering Corps has recovered 847 bombs of various types.
A team of 1000 personnel from the Engineering Corps are engaged in de-mining in the North. 586 anti-personnel mines, 2 anti-tank missiles and 259 live bombs have been removed during last January and February.

De-mining has been completed in Jaffna, Muhamalei, Karativu, Kilinochchi, Kokavil, Thamathi-puram, Mannar, and Manthei West and East.
