Govt condemns attack on Sirasa Media Complex

The Government vehemently condemns the attack on the Sirasa media complex in Depanama, Pannipitiya, perpetrated in the early hours of January 6, Anusha Palpita, Director of Government Information said in a statement released a short while ago.

President Rajapaksa immediately ordered a full investigation into the incident and called on the Inspector General of Police to apprehend the culprits and bring them to court.

Meanwhile, Minister of Mass Media and Information, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, also condemned the attack and called the IGP to initiate a probe into the incident.

The Minister further said that it appears that the incident was deliberately designed to bring the Government into disrepute at a time when the heroic troops of the security forces are successfully engaged in ridding the country of the terrorist menace.
