“Nobody should mourn the defeat of the LTTE”- John Rankin

Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) held its 173rd Annual General Meeting recently at Cinnamon Grand Hotel.

 

Addressing the gathering, The Chief Guest John Rankin, British High said that nobody should grieve about the defeat of .

 

“The physical that has come to this country is to be welcomed. Nobody should mourn the defeat of the LTTE”

 

He also added, potential British investors scouting for investment opportunities in post war look for clear and efficient approval processors, greater flexibility in promoting the private sector, and reduced bureaucracy in setting up businesses.

 

“In 2011, exports to Sri increased by 20% in terms of value to £155 million while the Sri exports to the were £804 million, an increase of 14% compared to 2010. We remain Sri Lanka’s largest trading partner in Europe and by the overall volume, the second largest trading partner in the world”
