The Sri Lanka embassy in Italy will be kept open on Sundays enabling thousands of Sri Lankan expatriates in Italy to access the office and its services, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Italy, Hemantha Warnakulasuriya said.
The decision was taken considering the practical difficulties faced by Sri Lankans in reaching the Embassy located in Rome on office days, he said.
Meanwhile the Sri Lanka Embassy in Rome has taken steps to have a ‘mobile embassy service’ in the cities of Napoli and Milano where a large number of Sri Lankans reside.
The new move of the Embassy has been commended by the Sri Lankan Diaspora in Italy.
