Special traffic plan for Deyata Kirula

The Deyata Kirula 2012 exhibition at Oyamaduwa, opened by the on February 4, will continue till February 12.  The exhibition is held on a 2,500 acre-land belonging to the Live Stock Products and Health . This years exhibition is said to be the largest out of the Deyata Kirula series held in an area spanning over 600 acres in Oyamaduwa.
A number of programmes at a cost of Rs. 21,742 million to develop infrastructure facilities in the Anuradhapura District have been launched in connection with the opening of the Deyata Kirula exhibition. Economic Basil is implementing many of these projects under the guidance of President Rajapaksa.
Today is the 7th day of the exhibition.  It is reported that large crowds are visiting the exhibition since 4th February, the day of the opening.
Superintendent of Anuradhapura Mahesh Senaratne said that a special traffic plan will be implemented on Saturday and Sunday, the final two days of the Deyata Kirula exhibition if traffic is found uncontrollable on these days.  If not, normal traffic plan will continue he further said.
The Anuradhapura – Wilachchiya road will be used only for traffic towards the Deyata Kirula exhibition. Vehicles leaving the Deyata Kirula exhibition site will have to use the Oyamaduwa – Nochchiyagama road to reach Anuradhapura.
Police request motorists to abide by the traffic plan to avoid congestion.
