The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Sweden has organized an alms giving and Asirvada Pooja to confer merit to the members of the security forces who sacrificed their lives to safeguard the motherland from the LTTE separatist terrorism.The Ven. Kirindigalle Dhammaratna Nayaka Thero of the Stockholm Buddhist Vihara Temple, the Ven. Watapana Pannaratana Thero of the Thapovana Vihara, Ven. Mathuragoda Manirathana Thero of Dharmapradeepa Vihara Foundation and the Ven. Imbulane Dhammasiddi Thero were present. A large number of Sri Lankans; Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslims and Swedish nationals were among the gathering in this great event.
On this occasion, Ven. Watapana Pannarathana Thero initiated a fund raising campaign themed ‘Mathruboomiyata Hitha’ by contributing Swedish Kronor 5,000.00 by Ambassador Jayasooriya. With a short notice, the Embassy was able to collect Swedish Kronor 8,000.00 which was credited to the Account of DST operated with Central Bank.
In addition to this fund raising campaign, several projects; ‘Api Wenuwen Api’, ‘Abadita Ranaviru Upahara’, ‘Environment Protection’, ‘Development of North and East’ and ‘Welfare of 55,000 displaced children’ were initiated by the Embassy enabling the Sri Lankan Diaspora who are living in Scandinavian and Baltic countries to assist and give their support to make these projects fruitful. It was decided to contact the Embassy to make their contributions to these projects.
It was further decided to issue the ‘yellow’ receipt to those who make contributions to these projects by the Embassy so that the funds collected to be transparent to the donors and to credit money to the account operated with the Central Bank.

A week ago, the very well known TV future teller, Chandrasiri Bandara, was arrested by Colombo City sri lankan Police because he predicted the President of the Nation would be removed from office in Sri Lanka.
Without giving details of statements in his e-mail sent to srilakan Government, the argentinian horoscope man told “I am trying my best for Chandrasiri to get freedeom”. He also added in his site, wwww.zodiacguille.com, two URLs, one corresponding to Mr. Bandara and, of course, the other: Sri Lanka President´s official web.
“Up to now, I couldn´t log in Chandrasiris´blog; it seems “stars” aren´t helping…” he joked. “but President´s site is quite interesting and easy to contact with His Excellency …”
Many astrologers all over the world are on “esoteric” expectation about the Sri Lankan Government decision. To finish, Don Zodiac Guille said: “I would respectfully like to have a look on the Mundane Astral Chart already built by Mr. BANDARA because the Police want a logical explanation about those political predictions on President Mahinda Rajipakse´s destitution”.
