Sixty five percent of the construction work of the Upper Kotmale hydropower project has been completed and the construction work of the 150 Megawatt Upper Kotmale Hydropower plant has been accelerated, Director of the project Shavendranath Fernando said.
He pointed out that the remaining work is expected to be completed soon.
The construction work has been delayed for several years. The power generated by the plant will be added to the national grid in August next year as the work has been expedited.
