JVP is being dragged towards unpatriotic forces –Wimal Weerawansa

National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader Wimal Weerawansa said JVP joined with Tamil National Alliance and UNP, when the security forces were about to gain the victory of Pooneryn , and they committed the same thing  when the second reading of the budget .

A party which provided examples to the nation that the war can be done, has now become the hands of Tilvin and Anura .

He further added that the present situation of the party is heart rending.

Further speaking he said that JVP is being dragged by Anura and Tilvin towards unpatriotic forces.

Eleven including Wimal sacked from JVP

The JVP has announced that it has sacked 10 of its members, who contested the general election in 2004 under the UPFA and were elected to Parliament and another, who was appointed to Parliament through the national list, for violating party discipline.

The members who have been sacked from the JVP are; Wimal Weerawansa MP, Premawansa Jayasinghe MP, Pathma Udayashanthe MP, Samansiri Herath MP, Priyankara Weerakumara Dissanayake MP, Deepal Gunasekera MP, Achala Suranga Jagoda MP, Mohommed Mussammil MP, Jayanthe Samaraweera MP, Piyasiri Wijenayake MP and Anjan Umma MP.

All should be united to eradicate terrorism-MP Weerawansa

National Freedom Front Leader Wimal Weerawansa said that they voted in favour of budget 2009 in order to assist the valiant security forces who are advancing in the battle front.

He said that the aim of the security force is peace.

If everyone commits to achieve peace, there is no need to divert present political situation in the country, Weerawansa said.

Speaking further he said that all should be united to eradicate ruthless terrorism in the country.

Vimal and Karuna join hands to eradicate terrorism

All measures should be taken to help the innocent Tamil civilians flee the cruel rule of Prabhakaran says Parliamentarian Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan.

The leader of the TMVP party MP Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan made these observations attending a press conference at the National Freedom Front head office in  Battaramulla today (23).

Expressing his views parliamentarian Muralitharan said that the Thamilnadu involvement in the Sri Lankan crisis should be for the betterment of the Tamil civilians who are highly affected by war and not to further entrap them within the LTTE terrorists.

Further speaking he said that the SAARC regional leaders who gathered in Sri Lanka pledged to work towards eliminating terrorism, he also said that he believes they will act accordingly in the future.

Wimal seeks party leaders’ meeting on Indian intervention

In the aftermath of the simmering political crisis in Tamil Nadu on the ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka, the National Freedom Front today called for Speaker W.J.M.Lokubandara to convene a party leaders’ meeting immediately to discuss the situation.
